YVETTE LACOBIE'S EXPERIENCE IN
SCIENCE ENGINEERING FAIR OF HOUSTON

March 21-23, 2002

Sponsored by The University of Houston-Downtown, The Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Engineering, Science & Technology Council of Houston.

Yvette with her project called 'Maze Magic' at Astroarena 3/23/2002

Yvette's project was in the category of computer science. The theme was to find out which algorithm worked best to solve a maze. A lego robot is programmed with a set algorithm (program) using Mindstorms and set to try to find its way from the beginning of a maze to the end.

Yvette won a second prize in the HISD SW District Science Fair on February 13, 2002 at Fondren Middle School in the Computer Science Category.

Maze Magic Project

Yvette and most of her classmates did not win any awards except Steven Mo who won a first prize in his category for Pershing Middle School. However, this event encouraged Yvette to focus harder for next year.
